Impossible Things by Kate Johnson --review

I read Kate Johnson's first fantasy The Untied Kingdom a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it but Impossible Things is even better. Being a writer myself it takes an exceptional book to so engross me that I can't do anything else until I've finished it.
I started the book last night and only stopped reading because my Kindle needed recharging. I charged overnight and woke up at six o'clock and didn't get up until I'd finished the book.
For me it was the perfect balance of fantasy, fantastic action and emotionally charged romance. I just hope Kate Johnson intends to write a series set around these characters as they, and their settings, are too good to just appear in one book.
This book had a similar feel to  Alison Morton's terrific books, Inceptio & Prefdio. However, this is essentially a romance whereas Alison Morton's books are alternative history thrillers.
I don't often give a book 5 stars in a review but for Kate Johnson's Impossible Things I had no choice. In fact I can't remember the last time I put my own writing to one side in which to read a book from cover to cover in virtually one sitting.
I can't recommend this book highly enough and that £2.48 it's an absolute bargain.
